I am trying to use Turbogear to overclock my C90S and I don't think it is doing anything. Fans are not louder, and I have no way of telling because Speedfan cannot detect any fans in my C90S.
CPU-Z shows CPU clock speed at 1842 MHz also... All in Overclocking mode. Regular mode shows CPU clock speed at 1600MHz.

Put the cpu under load, my method is to use spybot search and destroy to check for problems which puts the cpu on a high enough load to make the fans speed up because they cpu gets pretty hot pretty fast.

I had the same issue but they start to work when the system temperature rise over 58 oC that mean cpu temp around 51 or so and you do can hear them in a quiet room. I started a thread with the same question because the first time I got my c90s I didnt hear them and I was worry they didnt work. By the way, at 1600-1800 cpu your fan will take longer to start because the only temprature raise would be from the graphic card (pretty hot) The fan of the c90s are designed to start individually whicih means that if your cpu is ok, only the fan close to the gpu disipator (1st fan from left to right) will start along with the 4th fan with your cpu disipator

Try using 1 or 2 layers of box cardboard beneath your c90 if your going to put
it on your lap so you don't get burned, it helps with the heat and doesn't
block the fans like a pillow or carpet might.
