    Hopefully an easy question...

I've been Googling for answers on Speedstep technology and got nowhere fast, so I thought I'd try here! What is the lowest speed the P7450 in a G50VT should clock down to when not under load? Mine seems to only go down as low as 1596 MHz according to CPU_Z. I find this a little high, since my desktop Phenom II clocks from 3.0GHz down to 800 MHz. Is this just an Intel/AMD thing, do the Intel CPUs not throttle back as much?

    Cheers,

    Richard

Yup, my P8600 only goes down to the same clocks as you've mentioned. Intel's SpeedStep is different than AMD's.
