First of all, these issues that I have, is occurring on my A8Js, but I think it's relavant to all Asus laptop owners that comes with the Splendid Technology and the InstantFun button.
My first problem is that the Splendid Splash Logo is kinda 'burned in', leaving some kind of a opaque watermark on my screen that I can only see when I have the screen at a certain angle and with a certain background. It's located exactly the same place as it is when the splash screen is visible when first starting up my computer. Also, I see it very clearly when I play certain videofiles on my computer, but it disappears when I go into fullscreenmode. (As if the logo is 'minimized' as a regular application) It only happens with certain videofiles, and a lot is dependant on the background color and lighting combinations. Though this problem is not very problematic, the most irritating is that I can click on it. I suddenly had some problems clicking on a certain part of my screen, and I thought it was a either the mousepad or Windows that was malfunctioning. When I tried to click a certain spot, it kinda unfocused from my active window and not clicking on the link or button I was trying to hit. This was very irritating, and I had to click somewhere else on the screen to again make it my active window, and then scroll up/down to click on the link/button. After seeing traces of the Splendid Splash Logo when playing videofiles, I didn't right away see the connection, but suddenly I managed to spot a faint Splash Logo watermark on my screen.. From there on, I added 2+2, and saw the relation. I can confirm that it IS the Splendid Splash Logo I'm clicking on, because if I let the screen lie horizontal with the table, I can see the logo when being on ex. Opera on this forum, and if I try to click ex. the letter 'd', it unfocuses from my active window, in this example, Opera. If I then click on the right or left side, near the letter, but NOT on the letter, it refocuses on Opera. I have also tried clicking inside the ring of the letter 'd', and it refocuses on Opera if I just unfocused it by clicking ON the letter.
My second problem is the InstantFun-button, that my little brother managed to click, and now the LED is constantly on and the **** InstantFun-screen is always up when I either start the computer from a shutdown, or coming back from a standby/hibernation. This is definitely a irritating problem, and I remember seeing other people having this problem on the forum, but how did you solve it??
Also, I think my first problem started to occur at about the same time as the second problem, so I smell maybe a connection? So my questions are:
1. How do I fix the InstantFun key? (Don't need to disable the actual key, just reset it so the LED is off and preventing it from keep popping up when I logonto Windows.)
2. If the InstantFun-key-reset does not help the logo problem, what other solutions are there to remove the Splendid Splash Logo-problem?
3. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance, and thanks for reading the post, - Namk out from chilly Norway.

I don't have this problem and I don't have an answer. I'm just bumping the thread because I'm interested in the hearing what this is all about.

Good luck. -
I've already uninstalled it, but now AsusDVD is the one popping up all the time :/ Seems like it's the button that's stuck

Even though you uninstalled the program, it might not be fully uninstalled. I would suggest first checking the registry or using a program like ccleaner (which I strongly recommend having anyway) to make sure it's uninstalled.
If it is truly out of your system, then it sounds like a hardware problem. If it is a faulty button, I would contact Asus support. You should be able to send it in and have it repaired under warranty.
Let us know how it turns.
