Has anyone tried the newest Splinter Cell: Double Agent on their 7600 go?
It is kinda pushing the hardware but it meets all the requirements to run the game however, there is alot of lag during the game (character moves in slow motion) but I believe it is not totally due to the hardware requirements - as an experiment, I have tried following:
-setting EVERY video option to the lowest possible - still poor performance (it was a very very minor improvement).
-I noticed that using the mouse to "look" around the game, and this was relatively smooth - this is NOT typical symptom if the hardware was being pushed as it would normally result in the similar slow motion "lag" when navigating the character.
and here is the more interesting part - i pulled out and installed an old copy of Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow (released back in 2004) and guess what?
It was the very same problem! Moving the mouse around to "look" was completely smooth at high/low video setting and the same slow-motion feel was in a game that is OLDER than the laptop.
So I'm starting to think it is a driver issue and i'm running v84.63 (due to the mobile support) but this driver would still be NEWER than Pandora Tomorrow.
Also, Power4Gear settings are set to super performance.
Perhaps someone can share their experience about this?

Did you check the nVidia PowerMizer under the Display Properties?
It might be set to Balanced, which might cause this sort of problems.
(It has three settings: Max Power Save, Balanced, Max Performance; I think on AC power is set to MaxPerf by default, but for your drivers this might not be the case). -

Are the omega drivers out for the 7600? I beleive so... you may want to try those if you're looking for more performance... the card can certainly handle that game though.

powermizer settings are correct but i will try the newest nvidia drivers

He used to do nVidia, but I believe he stopped a while ago.
to get a newer driver for nVidia, go to

okay i updated directX instead and the while the game is somewhat playable the problem still exists (and in 2004's Pandora Tomorrow)
i'll try the graphics drivers as the last resort as i would like the mobile support in 8463 drivers -
I remember reading that Omega stopped with nVidia drivers. -

I have a Zepto Znote 6214, with a Core 2 Duo 2.14GHz, 2gb RAM, 100GB 7200rpm hd drive and a Geforce Go 7600 (which comes overclocked to 450mhz). I installed SCDA and it worked fine, a bit slow but turning down the graphics made it work like a charm. Frame rate probably in the medium 30s but good enough for a laptop. Now, for some reason, its as if I'm playing in slow motion. Frame rate is still good as I can move the mouse around Sam nice and smoothly, but he runs at around half speed. This was never an issue before: I've tried multiple gfx drivers now and reinstalling the game multiple times, funny thing is that I didnt change anything and it all of a sudden starts running at around half speed. Is this your problem?
It worked for around 2 hours when I first got it, played great, then I turned it off and on later and all of a sudden...bullet time! -

Thats interesting that you say that because I always thought that the guy moved pretty slow in the game too; Although looking around in the game, everything is completely smooth. I actually have a w3j though so maybe its a game issue that needs to be updated. -
A good way to tell if its in slow motion, if you havent seen it running at full speed, is getting to the point in the first mission where it counts down, and seeing that each second takes 2 seconds. This is really annoying...I've tried about everything with no success, and it was working well before!

I tried it on my A8Ja, and the performance is pretty poor as well. It's a really poorly done console port, just like Rainbow Six Vegas.

I have Pandora Tomorrow installed on mine, and it plays fine. I have the settings set towards the high end and it looks great. I am using the latest nvidia drivers from ASUS' website...

Just incase you haven't figured it out yet, disabling multitasking on this game makes the slow motion effect go away. Start the game, then use ctrl-alt-dlt to bring up task manager. Right click on the SplinterCell4.exe process, click affinity, and disable one of the cores (either I think).
Splinter Cell on A8JM?
