Hi guys, I'll go to Florida early January and I'd like to buy an ASUS G50vt-x2 while I'm there(costs way less than in the EU). Problem is, I won't stay long and won't have much time, so I'd prefer to have some info about where to go and buy it, w/o wasting time going through every single computer store there. I can't exactly order online because as I said I'll be there just a few days, and I wouldn't want to miss the shipment ;)

If anyone can help, it'd be greatly appreciated!

P.s: if you guys know a store that ships internationally, that would be an option too. I know of EXcaliberPC for example, but I'm not sure whether the laptop would be charged additional taxes going through customs, so I'd prefer to buy it from a store....

Shipping out of states to another country would hit you with some taxes... Unless you got someone to mark it as a gift or RMA or something of that nature (which really is a no no, hah)

As far as stores, I live in Orlando, FL... Only stores you may find it at are maybe Best Buy or Circuit City. You may also find a CompUSA/Tigerdirect store and check it out... Normally Best Buy and Circuit City are always within a mile or two of eachother, haha so should be quick to check them... But if you want to plan ahead just go online and lookup stores that are near the spot you will be and call them and ask about stock.

I myself have never seen a G50 anything in any of these stores but I have also never looked for a laptop at a retail store... If your staying with people you trust you can always order laptops online now and have shipped to them and just pickup. :)

    you got 2 choices.

    1. Buy the g50vt-x1 at best buy, they only sell the x2 at newegg.com

    or

    2. Buy the x2 online from newegg and if your staying in a hotel you can have them leave it there.

Ouch.. that's exactly what I feared.. seems like only newegg sells the x2, huh? I am actually trying to see if I can order it from there and that was my original plan, however they do not accept international credit cards, I'm trying to do it through paypal and I hope I'll manage, but it seems there are some probs.

Well, thanks anyways, if I manage to get it will let you know in the Owners' Lounge I suppose ;)

Orlando is pretty vast, but in the residential part I live in, East Orlando, our best buy has the g50g-x2, at least when i was there on the 23rd, they had it on display.

you must be confused with the g50vt-x1. This is the only g50 that asus sell through best buy at the moment.

FYI... I lived in New Zealand the past couple years and ordered from Newegg and BH Photo. Both shipped to NZ for a slight additional charge... which was still a LOT cheaper than buying it there of course. Also, it went right through customs with no problems/questions regarding extra duties. I did have a US credit card though...good luck

there's a compusa, circuity city and best buy all near each other in a triangle down by the FLORIDA MALL on South OBT....it's all there if you going to find anything.

Red Dragon...the hhgregg or whatever is right next to best buy above....never been in there.
