Hi all,
Nice to meet all you guys.
I bought my Asus A6VC in Toronto couple of weeks ago and everything works fine until recently.
It seems like my taskbar would occasionally get screwed when I start up my laptop. (about once every 5 times)...
When it gets screwed, 2 windows would appear on my taskbar when I have opened only 1 window. And when this happens, all I need to do is to restart my laptop hoping that it would come back to normal next time.
I dont know if this problem relates to the laptop itself or it's just the software (WIndows XP) problem. But since it never happens on my PC, could it be because some defective parts of my laptop or mebbe I will need to reinstall my WIndows?
Any advaice woudl be highly appreciated
Robin
ps: I have got a screenshot here but I dont have a webspace to put up the picture...![]()

you can attach it to your post. It's at the options when you scroll down.
Anyway, your problem sounds software related; I believe it can be solved by reinstalling Windows. -

It could be a Power4Gear setting. There was someone complaining about a resolution problem- "why are my icons so big every now & then"? Well this person kept switching to presentaiton mode accidentally (which lowers the resolution). They'd change the resolution manually in display properties to normal res, but it's still in presentation mode. So when you restart, it'll be back to low res again. Don't know if this is what you're experiencing, but try playing with the P4G settings.

Power4Gear mode stuck at presentation? Is your problem the resolution of the screen or ? If you use the P4G button to leave on battery saving mode and correct your screen, then disable P4G that should work.
