    Well the first one is listed as weighing 3.20 lbs while the other is 2.81 lbs.

    Go with the 1000HE if you require an actual battery life of 6+ hours. The 1005HA is advertised as "Up to 10.5 hours battery life", however it real life, the number is closer to 4-5 hours. If you prefer a slightly slimmer and sleeker profile, then the 1005HA would better suit you. Keep in mind that replacing/upgrading the hard drive on the 1005HA is a pain in the rear.
