So after upgrading to a penryn processor. T9300, and doing the heat circulation efficiency mods mentioned in other threads, I am down to 50c without cooling on my processor.

I always find people have been kind of vague with their temp successes, so I figured I'd mention it. I really feel like the T9300 probably did the most good as far as temps go, but I don't regret taking out the covers on the vents. I didn't measure their exact temperature effect, but they may have contributed 6-7C if my memory serves me correctly.

Before doing anything my cpu temps were almost constantly 68-75C so I think this was a pretty successful upgrade/mod.

I just bought the t9300 to replace my t7300. Ill try to post some numbers and stats when I install it into my computer. Its great to hear that because lowering my temperature was one of my main goals.

I replaced my T7300 with a T8300 about a month ago, and went from idles of ~74°C to ~60°C. I also applied some Arctic Silver 5 throughout the laptop at the time of the upgrade.
