    Hi Guys,

    I am researching for a notebook for a couple of weeks already. It's being kinda hard to find something that pleases me. I am looking for:

    * Core 2 Duo's 2.2 or greater
    * 4 GB of memory or more
    * 5 pounds or less
    * eSATA
    * 7,200 RPM SATA hard drive
    * screen sizes up to 15"
    * web cam
    * fingerprint reader
    * pc card express
    * dvd rw OR blue ray
    * discrete graphics
    * hdmi
    * something that can be actually called a 'laptop' without having the 'lap' part of it burned
    * gps is not required - of course - but it is nice to have

    I will be using this laptop on heavy development as well as for virtualizing entire server platforms. That's why I want the eSATA so I can have my virtual images on the external drive.

    I've been amazed by the different models Asus has and it seems that one of them may fit what I need, although I don't know all the models neither people that actually has one.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks,
    Robson

    The M50Sv fits all of the needs, if configure it with a 7,200 RPM drive, except the 5 lbs or less.

    Keep in mind that a 7200rpm hard drive isn't necessarily faster than a 5400rpm. In fact, depending on the capacity of the a 5400rpm can easily out perform a 7200rpm (eg 320gb 5400rpm hard drive is faster than a 160gb 7200rpm one)

    Also, there isn't one notebook from Asus that has everything you listed. You'll have to pick and choose which components/features are most important to you.
    For starters, take a look at the F8Sn-C1, Asus M50 series and the U6Sg-A1.
