Is one of the symptoms of a defective Audio DJ deteriorating sound quality? The Logitech Z-2300 speakers hooked up to my laptop are beginning to emit a strange sound similar to those produced on a windy beach. Moreover, Ive had to turn up the volume on my speakers significantly to produce a desired sound level since the Audio DJ failed. Is my problem related to the Audio DJ or my speakers? Also, I was wondering where I can get the Audio DJ replaced quickly and cheaply, preferably for free (including shipping and handling). I contacted my vendor and they told me to contact ASUS. ASUS told me that I would have to ship my computer across the country and that they were not responsible for any damage to the laptops components that occurred during the repair. Considering that the problem with the Audi DJ is entirely not my fault, isnt the responsibility of my vendor to repair the laptop?

Ever think it was your software settings or your speakers?

try plugging a different speaker. make sure the jack is properly inserted. mike could be right also. could be a host of things.. i say, troubleshoot before sending. $0.02

I've tried everything, even re-installing all drivers. I know for a fact that the Audio DJ is indeed defective, however, I'm a little uncertain as to whether my speakers are also defective.

Which notebook do you own again? You never mentioned it.
With Z70Va's, I dunno about all Z70 models, but there was a known problem with the Audio DJ playing sound through the speakers even though headphones were connected, so that is the problem I had, and that was all.
I had my unit replaced and that "fixed" it, but since replacing the unit is not really a fix since it could happen again, that is the only option.
