I upgraded my windows 7 from home premium to professional in Asus G51J. FOr some reason, now the system crashes when it comes out of hibernation. It crashes at the point when I had reenter windows after entering the password. I don't want to reinstall everything, I am sure it can be solved by some other way. Before upgrade it was working fine. Any suggestions?

I agree that it's most likely a software issue. Have you installed all the critical updates from microsoft?

In this case, try increasing your hibernation file size. The default is set at 75%, so you can try 100%.

To do this, go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > (right click) Command Prompt > (click) Run as Administrator.

    Enter:
    powercfg /hibernate /size 100

I had a similar issue, disabling one of the virtualization settings in the BIOS fixed it.

Can't remember which one it was though. :|
