I upgraded my firmware with the one on http://www.toshibaer.com/firmware/index.php?path=TS-L632D/. Then I burned a dvd and my dvdburner makes a lot noise when reading the disc and other computers can't read the disc I made.
I didn't make a backup of my old firmware. (stupid me)I tried the AS99 version ( I have a AS05 version). But that doesn't fixed the issue. Can some one post the firmware for me?
I googled for a old version, but can't find it.
I got a Asus S96J with TSSTcorp TS-L632D AS05.

Mine was original AS05, I installed AS99 last December or so. Wht are you asking for? Both the AS05 and AS99 versions are posted to that site - the newest one released overall is the DE04 Dell version which is supposed to make it queiter without sacrificing speed...wish I knew if that worked on mine tho, I mean it should since the drive doesn't really have anything to do with the system right? Especially for a Z96J...
Why did you upgrade in the first place and what verison is it you want?

I upgraded, because I thought it would make it more compatible with other brands DVDr. So I am searching for the firmware I had before ( pre feb/march 2007 firmware of AS05).
-
? You want one before AS05? AS05 was what came with my drive when I got it September 3rd.

No, I want a older version of AS05.
And I think yours will do.

An older version of AS05? My understanding was that was the release #. That site changes the dates all the time, seemingly at random. Are you saying that the AS05 that was posted there in December is not the same as the one I had originally until I flashed mine with AS99?
The extracted files still always say they are from July

How can you change Asus firmware on your drive? On my computer the firmware update software (SFDNWIN 3.27.11) display a message: This Firmware is not compatible with the selected drive. Contact your system manufacturer for infrmation on firmware updates available for this drive. But I have the right drive(TSST TS-L632D). I think, on my drive there is something protection or like else... Would you help me, how can you change your firmware?

For me, it just worked. I do recall seeing that message at some point...maybe when I checked my old firmware/opened the program to check if my new firmware installed properly.
I upgraded about 5 months ago...does it give you that message right at the start? Did you try all of them on that site? (If it says that when you open the firmware updater...not saying you should just actually try to flash everything on that page).
