I just received a shiny brand new z70va notebook.:asus:
I was testing out the tv video out and it works well, except for the fact that I notice continuous a wave of white bands scrolling up slowly on the screen. It's most noticeable when dark colors are on screen. Anyone can help explain how to get rid of that wave?
I have the TV out set to NTSCm using a resolution of 800x600 (the lowest I seem to be able to set the resolution) . The freq is locked at 60Hz.
Any ideas on why this is occuring or how to help reduce it? (could it just be my tv?) I figure it could get distracting if I happen to use the tv to watch a dvd or to show a presentation.

OK, so I realized that the white bands only appear when the laptop is connected to AC power. When running on battery it's fine. Any ideas why connecting to AC could cause this?

No one has responded to this and it's been quite a while, just wondering if you are still having this issue? Did you try relocating and plugging into a different outlet? I could be something to do with the power coming into your house or the grounding of the whole setup. I'm not an expert, but I know that grounding and power can have large effects on audio and video.

maybe your powercord is next to the s-video cable and there's some interference.Or maybe you have adjust some settings in the display-driver
