My Taichi 21 has many strengths but a reliable WiFi wireless connection doesn't seem to be one of them.
I use the device in my living room which is within 50' of the modem/router supplied by my internet service provider.
An older Dell laptop has no trouble maintaining a relatively strong/stable connection. Same thing for my Nexus 7 tablet.
The Taichi, however, typically shows 1 bar of signal strength and usually takes inordinate time to load web pages.
Also, when I close the lid and it hibernates, waking it up usually means that the connection has been lost. What's worse, trying to re-connect more often than not results in a "can't connect" message (the diagnosis tools return nothing). In these cases, I have to re-boot which normally restores the connection.
Is this behaviour endemic to the model or is there a setting somewhere that I can adjust.
    Can anyone help?
    Thanks.
    George

You could try making sure the antennae are connected correctly.

Did you fix? I have the same problem (and no it isn't an antenna problem)/ I have 5 bars on my Samsung laptop, tablet and phone and zilch on the Taichi - its a pain and that makes it a paperweight

I did resolve it (sort of). I moved my router/modem - about 8' but now closer to a straight line between router and laptop in living room. Connection stability improved but still doesn't match my other devices.

I just installed a dual band router and it works fine on 5Ghz but still has problems connecting to 2.4Ghz. I did take it on a business trip and was able to connect to wifi with no obvious problems so why so bad on 2.4Ghz at home?

Same problem, no 2.4ghz signal from 40 feet.
5ghz gives me just two bars.
All my other devices work perfect on either band even from 200feet through walls ect.
    Tried latest Intel WLAN 17.13.11

Curious why you think earlier driver works better? I've tried 3 versions, OEM, asus update, and intel latest with identical results.
