    Well.....
    See....
What had happened was i got my X1 with a bad fan.
    So it was sent back.
Now newegg has no more X1s in stock, so i am told i will be offered a A1 or i can get my money back.

I spend $850, if i wait a few weeks, should i expect to be able to get something nicer?
Any word on dates and prices of the n81?

    EDIT:
OR, should i get my money back and get one of the MSI barebones from OConBudget and pimp that out, coming to a total of $700

I don't think the n81 will be as cheap at the release.

How can you use it barebone?

    hmm not really finding anything.

Also Zero it will be cheaper im quite sure, ATI GPU's price wise are much better priced then nvidia so unless these new notebooks have some crazy good features i would say it should be the same or less.

Are the N81's gonn have Intel or AMD CPU? If it's AMD then you may suffer some battery life.

well if they're offering to trade your x1 for an A1, do take not that if you spent 850 on the x1, ur getting newegg's A1 for 850, and then theres also the 100 $ rebate that newegg has on the A1, so technically its a 750? dunno if any1 caught that, but unless u really need a laptop now, refunding to wait for a better one might be better, this A1 isnt capable of much heaveyweight graphics >.<

I'd say wait for the N81. It should be about the same price, or maybe just a little more.

Unless you're in urgent need of a laptop right now, I'd go with what others have suggested and wait for the N81.

If you want to play the waiting game, there will always be a better notebook down the road. If the specs and word of mouth on the MSI are as good as the N80 though, I'd go for the MSI if you want one now.

    yo!
just a correction, i'm not waiting on any new MSI...

    My decisions are:
1.See if Newegg will give me a n80-x5 instead
    2. Get the Barebone (msi listed above) from OCon
    3. Wait till the n81 comes out.

    1. is at discression of newegg
    2. is up to me
    3. depends on price...

i need to know what order i should put my options in...

well, frankly, i want the n81, but if it is like $1000 or more, then it was just a waste of me waiting around....

yea, and i'm totally pissed about it, and i have no problems waiting till march for the n81, BUT, what happens when its $1,200..... then i have to go buy an older model, or something, and it was a total waste of time...
i guess, really, i need some one to get a USA price on the n81....

i think the range should be the same it is now.

If you have a look at Asus notebooks you will see there notebooks either go down in price when the newer model comes out or stay the same so im sure it will be priced well.
