May I request a rather large favour? I have a new UX32VD-R300IV.
I have ordered a Samsung 830 SSD, is there kind member here who will walk me through the process of installing widows and any other software neeed after instalation?
I have purchaced the Samsung with Norton ghost but understand its wise to do a complete reinstal. I am very very lowtech on soft ware work.
Your kind support would be much appreciated.

If you're not comfortable following the steps in
Complete Walk-through For Doing A Clean Windows 7 Install
(why that thread is buried in the 'Asus Gaming Notebook Forum', I'll never understand)
then you can make your same request in that thread--perhaps someone will assist. -
The thread is buried there because it is linked in the sticky at the top of the gaming forum and was primarily made for the G73JH. There are other clean install guides floating around the forum too.
Anyways, here's what you'll need:
-> Windows (duh!)
-> Drivers for GPU, Audio, Wireless, LAN, Touchpad, Chipset and the ATK package. You can get those form Asus' support page or the component manufacturer's webpage.
-> Whatever programs you are using -
I have used Acronis True Image and it's fast & very easy. If you have a USB external drive bay, simply connect your new SSD in the drive bay to your existing computer run the program and in about an hour or so, depending on what you have installed, it will make an exact image of the HDD that's in your machine.
Then all you have to do is remove the HDD and replace it with the SSD and you're done! Sometimes there are a few tweaks that have to be made with an application here & there but for the most part it's really easy.
Hope that helps.
Oh, and one more thing. I would strongly suggest that you use the installed Asus Al backup program on your machine to create 4 backup disks. It will restore your machine back to factory settings in case anything goes wrong...very good to have.
It's a lot easier than looking for all the drivers that have to be downloaded from the Asus website. After you do a restore, simply uninstall all the bloatware like Norton Anti-virus and Asus Update and you will be running fine.
