First post here, so hello!
I am about to purchase one of these: http://www.amazon.de/Zenbook-UX303LN-R4318H-Ultrabook-core-i7-5500U-entspiegelt/dp/B00S6H47BM/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1425748969&sr=1-1&keywords=zenbook nvidia
However, I wonder if the extra 4GB of RAM for 100 euros are worth it or not. Especially, since the mother board has 4GB integrated. If I want to take advantage of the dual channelling, I would need to put another 4GB in the remaining slot. A different size (in this case 8GB) would spoil the dual channeling, slowing the peak performance.... am I right?
I did my homework researching a lot, but all the information I found was from 5 years ago or more. So, perhaps there are new systems that allow the computers to get the most of the dual channelling even if the RAM modules have different storage sizes.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Thank you!

Mismatching ram in a modern system makes it run in hybrid mode. The 4gb is interleaved with the first 4gb of the 8gb stick leaving the rest of the ram as single channel. The os will use the dual channel 8gb first and then the 4gb single channel last. Most applications will not show much of a difference anyway.

Taking advantage of the 12GB vs the 8GB RAM of the new UX303LN?
