Anyone know if this power adapter will work with the W3V? I kinda have this whole desktop thingy setup for my lappy and I dont want to spend the 2 minutes required to plug the power adapter back in and what not.

As long as the power output is compatible... but I think you'd have to ask if a 3rd party adaptor might not damage your battery life in the long run.... probably safer to buy a genuine ASUS power supply for your laptop, otherwise you might run into the dreaded "warranty issues" if anything goes wrong. Play it safe, at least while you're within your warranty!

By the way, how do you rate the screen on the W3V? It's "glossy", right? I'm thinking of buying one for work, and the only thing putting me off is wondering if I'll get eye strain from staring at a glossy screen 10 hours a day... how do you find it?

I honestly cant say that I prefer the "glossy" screen over a normal LCD screen. The only benefit is that i feel it is easier to clean. If they offered a non glossy version for say $75 less i think i might go for it. I havent been using my laptop alone by itself very intensively (<2 hrs) because i've mainly been hooking it up to my 19" Samsung LCD monitor, you can definently tell the difference between the VGA connection and DVI but i think its doable for watching movies and surfing the internet. I think the colors on the "glossy" screen are not as vivid as they could be, When hooking it up to my samsung monitor i think the colors look better on the samsung. Sony laptop screens are much better IMHO, but i like the keyboard layout and touchpad buttons much better. I think if ASUS had the same screen as a Sony laptop it would be PERFECT.

Thanks for that... I think I'll be getting the M6V (Z70V), which apparently has the same screen as the old W1, which might be better for my purposes.

    Cheers!
