Hi, this is my first post here. I do hope that I've posted in the right forum, if not, I do apologize, but I wasn't sure where I was to post this.

Anyways, I recently bought an Asus G1S from best buy (The X1s I believe) However, I was wondering if there was a way I could run tests on my laptop to make sure that there is nothing wrong with it (Faulty RAM, slow processors etc.)

The reason I am wondering is when I was looking at the model in Bestbuy I noticed that the model on display had a windows experience rating of 4.8 while the one I have now is a mere 4.4.

Is this important, is for some reason my CPU slower than the one at bestbuy's? (The cpu score was lowest) Is there any tests that I could run on my laptop to make sure everything is working the way it should? Many thanks.

Install the newest Intel inf update, should boost up your score.

3Dmark06 for video/computer testing... even though the end score means *nothing* in terms of how well games will play anyways
    memtest86+ for testing ram...
    superpi for testing the processor...

Take a look at the MemTest86+ Guide here.

Also here are the links for the programs mentioned aboved(it also mentions other one for benchmarking).

-lnks and descriptions are from the review your notebook page

Also you could use wPrime(it replaces superpi) for benchmarking the CPU
Measure your Dual/Multi Core Notebook CPU Speed with wPrime

So after I've downloaded and tested everything, Where and how do I compare my results? I have the Asus G1S-X1 which is slightly different in cpu power and video than a regular G1S

If you want to boost up your score remove the bloatwares. At first the score of my g1s a1 was 4.8 and now it is 5.1.
