The 'proper' way to use 940M on UX303UB?

    Hi everyone,

new here and did a quick search for a similar thread and ended up empty-handed, so I figured I might as well post my question directly.

I got a new UX303UB with the 940M because I wanted the extra VRAM, but after downloading the Geforce Experience (or whatever that thing is called, I use it mostly because it sends notifications for driver updates) and installing the latest Geforce drivers through that (it automatically detected and installed everything) and restarting, I'm having some issues:

    • If I try to enter the Display adapter properties from the Advanced Display Settings page, it sends me to the properties for the integrated Intel HD 520 card
    • Nvidia control panel gives me barely any options (compared to the ones it gives me on my desktop - for example I can't access any display or color settings - is the ASUS Splendid app interfering with that?), and when I go to the PhysX configuration tab I'm left with the impression that it uses the integrated graphics for regular display (screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/oKRuZ)
    • Most damningly, the first time I started Photoshop I got a warning that it couldn't properly detect the display driver and that it was turning off all acceleration options. On further Photoshop launches I don't get that message, but it still defaults to the Intel HD 520 and gives me no choice to switch to the 940M (screenshot: http://imgur.com/a/f4O79)
So my question is - did I make a mistake by installing Nvidia drivers the way I did? Should I clean them out and just install the year-old version from the ASUS site? Is there something else possibly wrong here?

Thanks a lot in advance :)

    Edit: spelling and clarification

Additional question - should I just do a clean Windows install? The bloatware is driving me slightly mad, is it possible that some ASUS software component is screwing with the drivers?
