    Check this out...

This online store appears to be selling the V2je allready. It looks like the V2j will cost ~54,000NT ~1600USD in Taiwan, but my guess is that it will retail in the US for $1799-1999 USD. Anyone know when it will be hitting the US markets? I would guess in a month or two...

I just ordered my V1JP, but from what I see here there is no reason for concern. When I seen this post I was worried that this was the V1JP I wish they built... with the go7700 and 2Gb ram included, but it's not. This looks like a "little brother" to the V1JP, for the users that need higher portability.

    -C2Duo T5600
    -14" WXGA
    -ATI X1450, 512MB Hypermem. (128 with 4 pixel and 2 vertex shaders)
    -120 Gb HDD, Webcam, ect...
-Same design as V1JP with some structural differences

All in all a nice rig though.

It is a little disapointing to see that it only has an X1450 GPU, but as far as wireless features, it is packed! It is also the best looking 14" Asus has put out to date.

Could anyone tell me what the case materials are in the V2? (top/bottom/palmrest)

Otherwise, could anyone point me to somewhere where this is listed? It's not in the model menu on the ASUS website...

Although I'm not completely sure, I assume it would be very similar to the V1j as far as case materials. From the V1j review:

As Jason said, the build will be very similar to the V1 (a.k.a. fantastic). Expect nothing but world-class build quality from an Asus business product.

It's listed on the Asus website. Products > Notebooks > Business > V2Je.

Well, there's world-class build quality, and then there's world class build quality... For instance, the build quality on my M6Ne is clearly superb -- world-class as you would say. However, the build quality on my V6J simply blows it away; it's simply the best-built notebook I have ever seen.

Nope, the materials aren't listed, not for the V2 and not for any other type either. You need reviews /3rd party info to find those out. :)

I think I'll say it again.... We should have them during the last week of the month. If we get it with 3.5g, expect it up at a minimum of $2k, but we're still trying to get Asus to sell it without 3.5g - but to give us the dealer option to install it..... obviously opens the model up to many more people. The only thing is we don't know yet if the 3.5g they're using is onboard or an attached card.
