*sorry if this is double posted, didnt see anything on first glance*
I wish that the Geforce 210M was available in the 13 inch (UL30A),but its only in 14 inch (UL80V) and 15.4 inch (UL50Vg),but thats the gamer in me talking

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Thermals in a 13" chassis aren't conducive to higher grade gpu hardware.
Lots of folks around here bemoan the lack of gpu capability in small-form chassis' but forget that one has to deal with all the heat those give off..... and trust me, if Asus even did that then those same people would be posting here in a second complaining about how hot their notebooks are (see multiple G-series threads on similar topics).
-
well, the ATI 4570 is currently in other Asus,Sony and Toshiba models, and I believe its even a higher performing card. Using the Geforce 210M would hopefully produce a lower costing machine that could still game a little.

Yes, but ATI has been kicking nVidia to the curb a bit lately in the midrange and budget gpu category; and the 4570 is a bit of a heater in those 13 chassis'.
It's not an issue of gaming a little (as lower-end gpu's are quite capable of doing that with minimal thermal issues), it's that people expect high framerates on new software from their little box and that doesn't work.
You're right, though, we'll just have to wait and see how nVidia's new silicon performs. -
Very nice laptops and well im happy with my N81VP-D1 still

The UL series was mentioned in a couple threads but it deserves a thread of its own
According to Notebookcheck:
#72 - ATi 4570 HD
#60 - NVidia GT 120
#58 - NVidia GT 220
So it would stand to reason that the GT 210 is a better card than the ATi 4570.

The gt 120m is basicly a 9500gt
The 4570 performes close to the desktop 4500

The gt 130m is just a faster 120m
http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3420&p=5
as you can see the 9500gt is faster than the 45x0 series -
I really don't pay attention to the keyboard sound lol Never thought of it...
I say its the same as all my Asus laptops I have owned. -
-
According to Notebookcheck, the 210M has 16 pipelines and a 64 bit bus, which are both half of what the 120M is, so just comparing those values,I would bet that it performs somewhat slower than a 120M (and assuming this information is correct).
I dont think it will kill the 4570. It may or may not perform better, but I doubt it would be by much if it does. -
Considering both are supposed to be low end GPUs, they should perform similarly. It'll really depend if ASUS decides to use DDR2 or GDDR3 memory in either case. For example, the HD4570 in the Dell Studio 15s performed noticeably better than the DDR2 HD4570 in the old ASUS U80V.
-
I'm putting my money on Asus using DDR2 for their low end GPUs...
-
Most likely. Considering the U/UL series isn't meant for graphics performance, it's cheaper considering the price of everything else(lights, thinner chassis, etc.)

Quick detailed review of the UL50! -
Do you think Asus will actually offer an UL80V with the SU9400 processor in the US? For some reason all the laptop manufacturers put out the ultralight laptops with the absolute worst CPUs in the US, while Europe/Asia gets a variety of models to choose from.
