As it says, my S key is starting to die on me, and I haven't had this machine for 6 months yet from Newegg.ca. It's now starting to cut in and out, sometimes reading, sometimes not. Is this something I can take care of myself, or will I need to do something with ASUS or Newegg?

You likely just need a new keyboard, which you can get for $10-15 at the Asus eStore (are they shipping to Canada?). Keyboard swaps are dead simple to do - remove the K screws from the bottom, slip the clips along the upper edge, pop it and the cable, assemble in reverse.

However, since it should still be under warranty you could send it back to Asus for replacement. I would suggest calling Asus to discuss your options.
