I need Help Deciding on a durable (preferably black) 15.4" thin & light, for Engineering
business and multimedia. I have been searching for around two months
    and found out these notebooks:

    -Asus M6Bne (Dothan)
    -Fujitsu N3510 (Sonoma) - too heavy 7.5lb
-Hp-Compaq Nc8230 (Sonoma)- no CTO and expensive
-Asus Z71v (Sonoma) - actually don't like it, it's here because it can be highly configured

For me, the closest thing to what i want is the Asus M6, why? because of this:

    -Carbon fiber chassis
-4 in 1 Mem card reader
    -Under 6lb
    -Ambient Light Sensor
-Audio DJ(Listen to music with no windows)
-All ports (including Parallel, except of DVI)
    -Can be Highly Configured with $1,650 :) 80gb HDD DVD-RW 1.8GHZcentrino WXGA 512

There are 2 big reasons that have me frozen about buying it:
-Sonoma version of the M6 is coming, but is in august

-Losing some powerful tools to upgrade my computer later( No sata,
No Azalia Audio chip, No PCI-e, no DDR2 Ram)

Also no WSXGA+ or Gloss screen

saw others, but don't have enough info and reviews about em (LG LW50, ect, ect..)

    Need some advice, plz help

Well what about the M6 refresh.. the Z70v? If you can wait till the end of June.. that's an option.

    Thanks,

How about the Acer 8104? That wasn't on your list.

It is up to par with Asus Z71V, which in my opinion is better because of that configability it has.

I missed the ALS ..... but it's not going to take till August....

I think it will get a WSXGA+ screen this time.. but i seriously doubt it'll be a glaretype.

    Thanks,
    Justin

The M6 doesn't have ambient light sensor...
