The power adapter ALWAYS falls out. So easily. So annoying!

It's really annoying, I'm on my laptop, and I more the computer an inch, and the wire falls out at the back. The wire isn't stretched or anything, theres plenty of it.

None of my other laptops wires at the back have fell out, it's always been so that I need to pull it out, not move the laptop an inch and it falls out like a piece of string lay on the lid.

I rest the laptop on my knee which doesn't help that I have to always keep perfectly still.

Anyone know anything I can do to make it not pull out so easily?

    Thanks.

Which ASUS model do you have? My G50, G72 and G73 all had/have firm connections to the AC adapter.

    Cheers,

Use your laptop on a desk? I find that a loose power jack is ultimately safer than an over-tight one. You could try getting in touch with Asus (?) to see if they could send you a new adapter or cord under warranty.

If not, one way I've dealt with this issue in the past is to use a loose attachment system - basically, rubber band hooked to the hinge (not a long-term solution), or velcro (more durable). Velcro works like this - adhesive square of velcro attached to either the lid or bottom, then a velcro loop that's attached to the cord. Plug in, stick the velcro, and it should stay in. If for some reason you forget and yank the cord, the velcro should be a quick-enough release.

If the power connector wire of AC adapter is falling out then the connector on the notebook is defective. Usually it should stay firm in its place.

If you have warranty then you should RMA it.
