well i would really like to know what all has to be done once i get this laptop...

As in the graphic card drivers,BIOS update and more...

People who have got the laptop would know all about this and i request u to shed some light. . .

Ur help would be invaluable to everybody whose going to get the laptop or those who have just got it and are thinking what all should be done...

    Thanks in advance,
    EH. :D

    1. Perform a clean install
    2. Install all drivers and the Asus utilities you want (I would only use power4gear, turbogear, and expressgate. All the other utilities are not necessary)
    3. Install all the Microsoft critical updates
    4. Install an antivirus software such as Avast or AVG
    5. Install some games and have fun!

I just was at best buy playing with one of those :)

Don't bother doing a clean install, not much crap, just install the crap,
and then what David said :D

Have a look at my Vista optimization guide.

As to which route you wish to choose (clean install versus remove bloatware)... it's up to you. :)
