    Hello everyone,

I'm thinking of going with Asus for a uni\college laptop and was wondering if this one was a good choice.

    Asus - 14" Refurbished Laptop - 4GB Memory - 320GB Hard Drive - Deep Blue - X401ARF-RBL4

    they're asking $279.99 for it.

I posted here because I wasn't getting much help in the "What Notebook Should I Buy" forum but to get an idea of what my needs are give that post a look

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/what-notebook-should-i-buy/705067-looking-portable-uni-laptop.html

So any Advice? or is there a better deal somewhere else?

    Thanks

I have one. Go for new btw I think it is 329.
It is excellent, AMAZING battery life (5-7 hours) which is unbelievable and better than the Zenbook.
Performance is good for a surfing laptop.

Throw caution to the wind when purchasing a refurbished item. Check to see that it will still be under the same manufacturer warranty stipulations as a new product, or similar stipulations at worst. Even if you get a lemon, but have the warranty to back it up, you won't be left with no support at least.

On the same token, it might be worth looking into an extended warranty, and finding out what was wrong with the unit that caused it to be refurbished. Consumer abuse = refurbishment? Probably okay, as long as you have the warranty to fall back on. Product defect = refurbishment? Reconsider.
