I decided to purchase an asus. I'm looking for the thinnest, lightest 14-15-16 inch Asus laptop with a slot load dvd(not mandatory). I can wait a month or two. Any suggestion would be appreciated

No I didn't. But I'm guessing even if I do. I won't know what to look for. I not very computer literate. Does Asus carry such computer? From the threads I read they computer are a bit bulky for the size.

Asus kind of left the thin and light market for the powerful and cheap market. they no longer have any 14" or higher thin and light notebooks. if you want thin and light they still make plenty in the 12" and under size

lol ye back in the day. even by todays standards the v6 would still be ultra thin with only the mac book air as a rival (brilliant design)

Instead of light they went for 'whatever with plastic', but cheap and powerful.

Yeah, the UX50 would do the trick.
