Please comment and advise me on the ASUS G51Vx-X3A?

This is actually pushing my budget but if it is a good deal/laptop, is it worth it?

I don't know if any of the other G51 models will come down in price or if heat is a major issue I need to be wary of?

    Good choice/deal or stay away?

If it's too risky because of the heat, which Asus or other laptop has similar specs?

I like the cpu (VT capable), dedicated graphics card, high res and LED screen (some sites claim a LED screen?).

It does have older DDR2 memory but seems to be the only negative other than price and potential heat issue...

DDR2 memory is not a negative, the difference in DDR2 and DDR3 memory is ~1 minute of battery life. I have an X1A for sale which has zero heat concerns.

If you want a good gaming notebook, not much will beat that deal at that price. The G51's with the new 5870 will supposedly be coming out soon, but I expect they will be a bit more expensive for a while.

Element's laptop looks pretty nice too.

Get Element's machine. That way you can laugh at me because you'll now have the coolest running G51, period. And all the hard work is done for you.

(I have the second-coolest, so meh)

Forge has a very good point. EIements computer is fully modded already to get rid of any heat concerns. if your set on getting one, I would contact him to inquire about it.
