My real download speed is over 5.5 Mbps directly and I have 2.4 MBps wireless download speed using LinkSys WRT54g v.5 router.
I do not know if it's ok or too slow and should be faster. I dont have anyone who has the same notebook to check it.

I'd like to ask you to post your download speed including:

    1. your advertised download speed
    2. model of your router
    3. your wireless download speed - Plz use www.testmy.net to check it.

    Thanks in advance !

It's your test site that's bad. I usually download at 500-520k from reliable sites and torrents. I only got 166k on testmy.net.

Well plug your notebook in via Ethernet and compare results.... My results are the same throgh wireless and ethernet (good reception 36mbps link between NETGER DG834G and broadcom b/g card on my z92m).

have to remember that IF you saturate the uplaod you download will be reduced....

Yeah, my router is in my basement (Netgear WGR614) and my a8jm is in my room (2nd floor) and I get 54Mbps connection w/ very good signal strength.

My cable connection is 5 Mbps, and I can usually max @ about 4.8 Mbps.
