To all Asus Zenbook owners - did you self-install more RAM and/or a SSD?

I am considering purchasing an Asus Zenbook as my next laptop replacement, because I'll be leaving college this year and going out in the world to find a job! lol Anyways, I've read reviews online that some people prefer self-installing RAM and a SSD if their notebook came with a HDD.

Did any of you put in more RAM (from 4GB to 8GB) and/or replace the HDD with a SDD bought from Newegg or something? I want to go the cheapest route possible! Thanks in advance :)
