Hello. It seems that no one who purchased a Velocity Micro x20 is having any of the problems we with the ASUS C90S are. You could really help us out by seeing if you have a different bios than we do. Also what drivers (GPU,etc.) that may be different. If they are, if any of you would be gracious enough to provide a way for us to download a copy this might possibly solve our problems!!!

Here is your chance to be a hero! :D

    hey guys,

maybe ask vicious and swoley... I think they had same issues. However, judging from the way they handled their c90, ( and i think they're pretty much experts in lappies and hardware etc... ), they just couldn't find a permanent fix. Swoley even suggests not to waste time and return it right away...

And from what i've been reading so far, there are just 2 scenarios : either they work or they don't. I also ordered the c90 internationally thru excaliber... and im praying and crossing my fingers that it wont have issues. If they do, i think ill take swoley's advice and send it back right away... ( but that's just me... )

Did you order all components from one dealer ?

Hello sageo 1. hey - no kidding - if you could solve the problems everybody is having you could say "Yes - I'm The Man!". He He. What's life without a little humor. Seriously though, the 2 things you could help with:

    1) We are all waiting for a new bios as there are problems with all of the existing ones (502 and the latest 704). If you could check to see which version your bios is, we would know then whatever is in your laptop is okay.

    2) Also if your not having any problems then that means your Nvidia drivers are ok also- so what version are they ?

They must have sent you a driver or recovery cd, unless they forgot, other than the Vista cd.

actually the some x20 models are having trouble. My first one was unstable and constantly crashed I'm the one who had to exchange, also the guy at circuit city said that the x20 he put on display also had a lot of problems with its HDD (it uses ATA/100, not S-ATA).

Thanks for the reply -that's interesting they went ata since the c90s is native sata. Or is it? It would still be helpful just to know what version bios and nvidia drivers.

have not had really too many issues but i wonder if i would be more comfortable with a hpdv9500t in the same price range or a dell 1720 .
