Congrats on your purchase! I'm eagerly awaiting my M6Ne with nearly the same specs. Is it in stock @ powernotebooks? Shipping immediately?

I've heard, however, that the M6Ne is in shorter supply than the M6BNe. Is yours ordered? From whom?

Yeah, supposedly distributors here (Vancouver, BC) will be getting a new shipment of M6Ne kits in the next couple of days. I ordered from a local shop a couple of weeks ago. The M6BNe was in-stock at the time (and it seems to be readily available most places - you should get yours pretty quick), but I really need the high-res screen.

I'm interested to know what you think of the 7200 drive - don't forget to post a review when you get it [8D].

    I'll definitely post a thorough review. [;)]

BTW, I've wanted to pay a visit to Vancouver for some time. I hear you've got quite a nice town.

Radeon X, where are you ordering the M6Ne from? I live Vancouver BC as well, and the store I went to says the M2N, M3N, and M6Ne are currently unavailable...

no, but it seems like the price is better than the place I looked at. How much was your config excluding tax?

I ordered my stuff at A-Power (stores in Richmond, Burnaby and @ www.a-power.com - I ordered at the Richmond store).

    Prices (CDN) from A-Power:
    Asus M6Ne - $1099
    Pentium M 735 - $410
    Kingston 512 PC2700 - $149
    Hitachi 60GB 5400 - $192
    Intel Wireless 2200 - $45
    DVD / CDRW combo - $149

Total: $2044 CDN before tax and no need for shipping :)

I also know that A-Power sells the M6BNe for $1149.

Now, I just need the Asus distributors to get the M6Ne in-stock here =(. Hurry Asus, hurry!!!

@pstrisik - You definitely should come visit Vancouver, it's a beautiful place! [8D]

This is the exact same configuration I'm getting! Except I wanted a secondary battery that swappable with the optical drive. The other place I looked at with the same specs except CPU speed (one I looked at was 1.5Gz only) = $1940 CAD before tax and no need for shipping also. Yours, being only $100 more for the Dothan chip and having better graphics than mine (the Rad. 9600), seems to be a better deal. Therefore I might just go with A-Power.

*RadeonX, how's the warrantee of your package? I only get 1 year parts and labor...which is disappointing.

    I could get the M6BNe for around $2500 including tax: 1.7G, 1G ram, 60G 5400rpm HDD, DVD-ROM, + 2nd battery.

It's a good deal, in my opinion...however, I don't like the WXGA screen which I believe is the only one available in N. America. Are there WSXGA+ screens around?

Well, usually A-Power has 1-year parts and 3-year labour on systems... but I'm putting mine together myself so I'm not entirely sure about what kind of warranty I'm eligible for. Asus' factory warranty looks pretty good though, so I'm not too worried about it to be honest. The only thing is that they adopt the manufacture policy on dead pixels - minimum 7 (I think) to be defective... That's a bit worrisome, but par for the course it seems.

Also, the M6N/M6BN were $150 less than M6Ne/M6BNe. I ended up going with the M6Ne because I was told by the supplier that the Dothans wouldn't work in the non-e versions. I'd chalk that up to iffy specs on the Asus site, becuase supposedly they do work... but whatever.

As for the WSXGA+ screen, I never asked, but I doubt we can get it here.

$2500 for that M6BNe is pretty good, where's that at?

An update on my order: The M6Ne's won't be available until the 24th/25th now!!! Damn it all anyway, I'm getting impatient!

This is where I'm getting it from...maybe that's just the M6Bn without the Radeon9700...not sure. But with the 1G ram and DVD-Rom, it's a pretty cool choice given that price.
