I have a Asus K50I note book. I can scroll around the screen using the touch pad but nothing else. The buttons do not work and tapping the pad does nothing. The driver in the properties screen is "ETWare PS/2x64 7.0.5.7_WGQL" and the device is listed as "Elan Smart-Pad (V2.2)" Can someone lead me toward a solution?

    Thanks, Jim B.

I opened the device manager and uninstalled the touchpad and checked the delete driver software box. After restarting the computer the driver was still there. I had to go to programs and features in the control panel to remove the software. After I did this and rebooted, I looked at the mice list in the device manager and the ELAN driver was replaced with Standard PS/2 device. I could now scroll with the pad and select things by tapping on the pad but the buttons still didn't work. I next downloaded and installed the pad driver from the Asus site. I'm now back to where I was in my original post. I checked and all of the options are enabled. Where to next?
