My wife has a N81Vp-D1 and sometimes on boot-up the keyboard and/or touchpad is unresponsive. She has to reboot it and cross her fingers that it will work next time.

Since it works about half the time it doesn't seem to be a driver issue that some people have had. Could it be a loose connection inside?

It's still under warranty, should I send it in for service?

Yes it could be loose connectors, there is one each for the keyboard and touchpad. Are you unable to hit F2 to get into the BIOS setup when this happens? I'm just wondering if it's a problem with windows or if it's a hardware issue.

Well I just talked to my wife and it seems that usually the keyboard will stop working after its already been used for a couple hours.

The touchpad on the otherhand often doesn't work at bootup.
