Good Evening,
I was trying to install Touchpad driver (Synaptics) version 11.1.1.1 but i can't install it. Is there some trick to do that or should I install 10.8 something? What is the difference between them?
-
Yea I'm haning the same problems here. My mouse still works but i just can't scroll on it.
-
If you find something new please post!
-
Are you using the driver from Asus website?
-
No, i don't. I was searching for the latest driver and found that 11.1.1.1 but i guess it will not work with Vista 64. There is a version 10.1.8 from the official Synaptics website and it says it will work with Vista 64, but there's a note: "Installing a generic driver can result in the loss of customized Synaptics pointing device functionality."
Asus website only has for Vista 32.
So, should I use 10.1.8? Or is there a way to install 11.1.1.1? -
What is the driver inside the driver cd?
-
I'll look and post later to you, but for what i'm reading on other forums and stuff i guess it is not worth to use latest driver, it's better to use an old driver that do the trick, do you agree?
I don't know if version 10.1.8 of generic driver works ok with G2S.. but i'm considering testing it..
Thanks for the quick reply! -
I'm still using the Touchpad Driver 9.1.19.0 that comes with my driver cd, but I'm using Vista 32Bit. I never update the driver, since it's working well. And there's note on their website, "Please note that Synaptics only supplies generic device drivers on this site. The Synaptics driver that is incorporated with your notebook is custom designed for your specific notebook, so check with your system manufacturer for driver updates before downloading a generic driver from this web site".

Can you check if has an 64-bit version on yours cd? I can't get mine
-
Unfortunately no. What's your notebook? You upgrade OS to 64-bit yourself?
-
My notebook is an G2S-B2, and yes, I installed Vista 64 myself..
If you need some more information please ask! -
You can try the Synaptics TouchPad Vista 32/64 in this link, http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=100357. Or post in the G2S lounge here. Good Luck
