I would like to know too because I am about to order this as well.
It's going in an Asus Z70VA. Any compatibility problems? I highly doubt it....the ram has great reviews on newegg. -

I've had a Transcend TS128MSQ64V5J 1GB DDR2-SDRAM in my W3A since April. It has given me no cause for concern.

what's so special about this ram compared to others like kingstons? or something?
Thanks,

Special? Nothing. It's just on sale. For SO-DIMMs, I think you're getting pretty much the same thing across brands that have lifetime warranties. If Kingston is on sale, I recommend that. The Transcend sale right now, though, is pretty darned tempting.

mixing different brands would be no problem, would it, as long as they were the same speed?

And regarding the inexpensive Transcend RAM, I bought 2 of them!Going from 2x512 MB to 2x1 GB. I don't really need the upgrade right now, but I will down the road and this is the cheapest they're likely to be for a while

hmm, interesting, and yah 70$ USD dose sound cheap to me 1gb sticks should be aroound 120-149$ right?
Thanks,

Went ahead and picked one up. Another gb won't really make much difference, but at that price it is worth it. It will also let me know when it is time to upgrade my proc, since that would be the last remaining performance bottleneck down the road. Thanks for the heads-up!

update: just installed the new memory and it's working fine.

Transcend is pretty much compatible with everything. I had two sticks of it in my notebook, they worked just fine.
