I have exprienced with my Z70V, and I posted it as follows:
    http://www.notebookreview.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17770&whichpage=1

The problem was Transcend 1GB DDR2 4200, which is not compatible with Z70V. I returned the chasis, and tech support at GenTech tested it with other brands. It worked, but not with Transcend. The memory I had was not a bad RAM, just because it's not compatible.

Hopefully, you are aware of Transcend memory when you are upgrading your notebook memory.

Its not the brand its the timing. I ve use transcend before many times. This is just a casualty of the build it your self situation. It happens. I cant even count home many times we had to get different modules becuase our current stocked model does not work or does not work right. It would be very easy if all memory worked everywhere :)

Ahh the old memory problem....its weird....memory is one of the easiest/most common things to upgrade/instalL, its also the most common sources of problems, yet for some reason everyone (including myself) always forgets about it...lol
Glad that its all good now,
Hope the new machine goes well for ya!
