    better late then never?
    They are not the first. these 1gb modules been out but as i recall did not work

    Really? I looked all over and couldn't find one that was still in production.

    It is possible there is a 512MB/channel limit on the older chipsets, though. So consider my statement retracted.

    Not that I rarely use more then 600MB or so of RAM with XP. 512 is just a little bit too little but 1GB is plenty for a laptop with integrated graphics and a single core CPU...
