    is it just me or is vista'a transferring speed faster than XP? because now I'm using XP and when I transfer files from my external to my computer, it seems like it takes longer....have this been proven?

    Well first off vista supports enhanced while xp just ide.
    Vista supports robson (which may or may not be installed on your notebook).
    Xp should be slower. dont know by how much.
