Considering getting one of these for my wife, but not finding much discussion of it here. She's mostly looking for a laptop with a good screen for under $1000. A FHD IPS screen with good color gamut is appealing. The hybrid aspect is OK, but I imagine it will be used as a normal notebook most of the time. I see that the previous model had a hdd and battery in the keyboard, this one doesn't, right? Any other opinions on this? Seems like a good deal for $700.

So my wife ended up getting the T300LA from the Microsoft Store for $700. Seems like it was a pretty good deal, as I can only find them now online for closer to $900, and they are no longer on the Microsoft Store. Overall it seems like a pretty good machine, and I'm kind of surprised to not find any discussion of it here. So far I only have two mostly minor complaints.
1) The keyboard is a bit light compared to the screen. It works fine on a desk, but if you put it on a softer surface that isn't perfectly level it can want to tip up a bit. Not a big deal, as I imagine if you're using it on the couch you can just take off the screen and use it as a tablet.
2) The keyboard requires a USB cable plugged into the screen and keyboard. I'm guessing this is to charge the keyboard, but they don't make that really clear in the very small setup manual that came with the machine. The cable that came with it is probably 2 feet, which is annoying for something that only needs to be 2". More importantly I'm not sure if it is actually working, since we left it plugged in while the laptop was charging yesterday, but this morning the keyboard seemed to be out of juice.
