    idk but just as a thought, a month ago I saw notebook (i believe sony) bluray players on amazon for $50. Not sure if it could also burn DVDs but if so, and if its compatible, thats a much better deal. Granted you'd also need software to play blurays.

    Take your optical drive out and check if it's IDE or SATA interface. If it's SATA, then the drive you have linked in your post will work. You may have to swap the faceplates in order to make it flush with your notebook.

    Just a note, this will not always work / sometimes the eject button and screw locations may be in different places. But besides looking a bit bad, it will work anyway. :)
