I recently bought an asus g72gx from bestbuy and everything seems to be working fine other than the turbo gear extreme utility. Nothing happens when I try and open it up; this is probably a silly question but did bestbuy somehow block this utility from being opened up?

Even if I can get this utility to work, will OC'ing this comp void my warrenty with bestbuy?

I've been reading through the forums and I know that ASUS doesn't have a problem with OC'ing, but does bestbuy?

Check your bios, the G71/G72 have an option there to enable the turbo (that will downclock the ram), if not enable you wont be able to OC via the turbo software.

you only OC 15%max and at that freq you wont generate enough heat to damage the lappy(given proper ventilation i.e. not sitting on carpet or bedspread, ect.)

i ran superPI 32M OC'd and it ran fine
