I've got a W3V and have noticed that when I put it in standby mode the power led on the lid and the power button start to flash!? Why in the name of god is that?

It just seams unlogical to me. My first instict is that something is wrong and it needs ergent attention but I've now grown wiser..

Is there any way of just making the leds turn off in standby?

... it starts to flash to let you know it's on standby and not off... if you forget about it, your battery is still going to die...... Logical or not, I'm sure if it didn't do that someone else would have a problem with it. On the other systems there is a little tiny led that blinks.... On the W3, you've got that whole power button... I love the placement of the power button, but even I thought the same thing just a month ago on a night when I set the thing down next to my chair and turned the lights down to watch a movie and there was a blinking glow coming from the floor.....

You *could* paint over the power button...... I took the unit apart and took the led in the power button and just painted over it with a marker........ the result? ... it still blinks and you can still tell it's on... but it's much dimmer. I would have gone all out and blacked it out or took the led out all together, but I like the lit effect.....

I'm sure there is a way to program it, since something is triggering that anyway........ but in a way all of the systems do it, the W3 is just the most noticable because of the placement of the power button....
