In reference to this thread where you get two batteries in the box! one 4 cell and one 8 cell (I think):

...does anyone know if the two batts are included in the UK version of the W3V?

Also while I'm on the topic, is the Enter/Return key the large (desktop-keyboard-alike) type?

... you're paying for what you're getting..... many countries had options like that and the US office could have done the same and raised the price, but they didn't. Basically the 4 cell is the same size as the US standard 8, but it's a couple ounces lighter, and obviously half the battery life. I wouldn't suggest you waste your time on something like that, but do what you want.

Also - yeah, UK keyboard the that odd shaped return key.

European notebooks usually have a one extra key (for the national currency) compared with US keyboards. Often, space for this key is made by shrinking the enter key.

Er... A contradition here.... Is the Enter/Return key the big one or is it just the single spaced one?

Also, ProPortable I don't think you understood what I mean, I was only asking if the UK versionc came with both batteries.
Putting in the 4 Cell and using the travelers draw makes it 2.0Kg! what a weight! :)

The Enter key on a UK W3 keyboard is 2 rows high and 25mm wide in the upper half (between ]} and PaUp) and 20mm wide in the lower half (between #~ and PaDn).

I believe that UK W3 models come with one battery - the 8 cell. Maybe early model W3s (W3N?) came with two batteries, but since then the trend has been towards only supplying the higher capacity and heavier 8 cell battery.

Thank you very much Ratsey, I'm glad you cleared that up.

Do you know of any UK sites where I could get a 4 cell?

I've never see the 4 cell battery listed on the UK sites. I suggest you contact Asus UK at:
