The two-finger tapping for getting the context menu (as right-click) works 1 out of 10 times.

It's so desperating that I end up by not using it, so I use the right-click in the touchpad, which is also very poor and fails half of the times.

Anyone with the same issue and a solution?

    Thanks

Sounds like a potentially faulty touchpad or controller. The touchpad can be replaced at least, though you would probably be looking at a new board if it were the controller (worst case scenario).

This it the third Asus X501A in a row that I have, because the first two had hard disk problems, but also this same two finger tap thingy.

If it is deffective, it is the whole production of them.

I installed the latest driver from Asus and also checked from Windows. It's updated.

Just a bad touchpad I guess.

Yeah, unfortunately there have been quite a few cases directly related to the trackpads lately; many I think have been improper grounding and/or other assembly problems.

Have you tried reaching Asus to see if they can nail it down for you?

Maybe I will, but I contacted Asus three times about my problems with the other laptops and their replies are worse than bad joke.

Horrible customer service. The worst I have seen. And on the phone it is even worse. Some ladies on some far away country knowing absolutely nothing about computers...

    Thanks anyway.
