So my dog just chewed through my charger for my new U36SD and I am now in need of a replacement. I don't see a lot of places selling chargers for the U36SD but I do see a lot selling them for the U36JC is it safe to assume that the two use the same charger? If not does anyone have any recommendations on where to get a replacement?

After 2 hours on the phone with various microsoft employees... The power cord is NOT covered by the Microsoft Assure coverage I got. So... Any other suggestions?

This kind of warranty discussion drives me crazy.

OK, folks, for the love of xxx please carefully read the warranty before you all start offering advice on what it covers, and end up making a mistake that is either going to cost someone financially or in lots of time spent on hold with CS reps for no reason. Wrong answers above x2.

The ADP covers only the notebook itself for damage, and does not include any accessories (i.e. AC adapter).

    From the warranty page:
The ASUS Accidental Damage Protection (ADP) protects ASUS-branded notebook computers from accidental damage incurred from electrical surges, fire, drops, and spills. It covers the notebook itself and any built-in or onto-the-base accessories - FREE of charge. it’s a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. One incident per Notebook.

gadgetX - eBay is a reasonable source for AC adapters, but I would suggest sticking only with Top Rated, North American sellers. Do not buy anything that ships from Hong Kong or China mainland - your options for protection and reimbursement are more limited if something goes wrong.
