    Hi forum,

decided to go for the u36sd.
the only open question is: Black or white?

i know that it is a matter of taste, but i dont have an option to see neither in "live", so i need an advice for that..

    what do you say?

    Thanks!!

I've got the black one, and it looks amazing, even better than a MBP, imo. I haven't seen the white one, but I can't imagine it looking better than the black one.

This may be a moot point if you're in North America - I don't believe that Asus NA imported any of the white U36 models.

Else, using other folks' opinions on the look of a system to decide whether you might like it or not is tricky. Few around here have likely ever seen the white U36.

If you were ever a fan of the white Macbooks, or the white Asus Eee models, then that color on the U36 might appeal to you. If you need to take it into a professional environment, avoid the white -- black is always the better course.

I love my black one and black is always the safer bet. Havent seen the white one but I usually get sick of looking at white/silver (or two tone) after awhile.

    thank you for the replies!
after many thought i got the white one.
apparently there is a single advantage for the white (i must admit that i figured that out only after the purchase): it does not need a backlit keyboard! the key perfectly seem at night!

i have 2 issues with it by now:

    1. the wireless connection to my linksys router is kinda weak (it keeps disconected)
    2. the touch pad not really responsive.

    ideas?

    1. Upgrade the stock wifi card. I upgraded mine with Intel Advanced N 6230 which I bought from provantage.

    2. Install Bios Version 206. be very careful in updating your bios. My bios update failed on mine so I'm U36-less right now.
