Can anyone with a u46e or sv comment on the screen quality/viewing angles?
This would be a huge selling point for me if it's better than say an Acer 3830tg.
Just screen vs screen, i don't need to hear about throttling and heat :p

    Received it yesterday.

Screen quality is pretty grim I have to say... Can't compare it to the Acer, but I have good reason to believe Asus is worse. Viewing angles are terrible and the whole screen seems to be covered in little dots (I guess that's the LED matrix)...

Colour reproduction is also really poor, and that's probably because they made it extremely thin... Not a good idea in my opinion.

In sum, U46 has a really rubbish screens. If that's what you're really looking for in a Laptop, don't buy it...

It has an absolutely amazing keyboard though. It doesn't get any better than this.

I agree - you have to see one next to another laptop, then you'll see that there is some not right about the U46 screen.

I think ASUS generally use crappy screens to save on cost. I haven't had an ASUS laptop with good screens for a very long time.

However, on the other hand, most laptop companies (except Apple, who custom tune their TN screen) use either the same screen, or comparable screens.
