    U6S-A1
    12.1"
    2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T7500 4MB cache
    2 GB RAM
    160GB HDD 5400 RPM
    NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS
    1792.64 USD (amazon.com)

    U6Sg-A1
    12.1"
    2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 3MB cache
    3 GB RAM
    250GB HDD 5400 RPM
    NVIDIA GeForce 9300M GS
    1649.99 USD (newegg.com)

Which one is more "powerful" overall?

(I don't care about HDD space and I can always upgrade RAM so disregard those)

Are the processors and video cards that much different?

    U6Sg-A1 has higher performance.

9300M GS is a die-shrinked version of 8400M GS, so while the performance is retained, the thermal is slightly reduced.

As for processor, Penryn CPU is about 5~10% faster than Merom CPU, clock for clock. As a result, it should be on par, if not better, than the slightly faster clocked Merom. Not to mention that its thermal dissipation is also lower.
